Jamaica
Jamaica is a developing country in the Caribbean. It has a population of 2.73 million. It is known for its pristine beaches, flora and fauna, and rich Reggae music heritage. Although beautiful and welcoming, the country suffers from high levels of crime and violence, high unemployment, and poverty. One cannot tell the extent to which people suffer unless you venture into the inner reaches of the country. Many of its people lack the skills and education needed to excel.
Today, Gracehouse World Outreach operates in one of the most volatile inner-city communities in the country, Whitfield Town, Saint Andrew. Children are provided with a nutritious breakfast before school, while others are being rescued from gangs. Gracehouse offers prayer and counseling services to the general community.
